As the largest privately owned house in the United States, Biltmore House boasts a staggering 175,000 square feet, comprising 250 rooms, 35 bedrooms, 43 bathrooms, and an astonishing 65 fireplaces. Designed by architect Richard Morris Hunt, its architecture exudes grandeur and luxury.
Situated in the picturesque Blue Ridge Mountains, the Biltmore Estate offers a sweeping landscape of 8,000 acres. The estate’s origin dates back to the 1880s when George Vanderbilt was captivated by Asheville’s natural beauty and decided to build a summer retreat. Vanderbilt married Edith Stuyvesant Dresser and had their only child, Cornelia Stuyvesant Vanderbilt, born in the mansion in 1900.
